Herzegovina Storyline: Počitelj, Blagaj & Mostar
Three stops along the Neretva valley, each with its own character: a fortified hillside village, a river spring under a cliff and the old town of Mostar.

The plan for the day
Počitelj
Stone houses, a mosque and a tower climbing the hill above the river. A short walk up gives the best view of the valley.
Blagaj
The Buna river comes out of a cave at the foot of a high cliff. Next to it stands a dervish house, built centuries ago, with restaurants along the water.
Mostar
The Old Bridge, the bazaar and the narrow streets on both sides of the river.
Good to know
A passport or ID card is needed for the border. The dervish house in Blagaj asks visitors to cover their shoulders and knees, and has scarves available at the entrance.
