Dubrovnik to Budva via Perast and Kotor
If you are moving on to the Montenegrin coast, the Bay of Kotor is right on the way. Instead of driving past it, stop in two of its towns and arrive in Budva in the afternoon.
After the border the road follows the shore of the bay, with the mountains rising straight out of the water.

Stops along the way
Perast
A small baroque town on the water. From here boats go out to the island of Our Lady of the Rocks. Allow about an hour, more if you want to take the boat.
Kotor
The old town is surrounded by walls that climb the hill behind it. Walk the streets inside, have lunch, or climb part of the way up to the fortress if you have the energy.
Budva
From Kotor it is about half an hour to Budva. We drop you off at your hotel or apartment.
Good to know
Everyone needs a valid passport or ID card for the border. In high summer the queue can be long, so we plan an early start and keep the stops flexible.
